This brush pack includes all the brushes I use in my workflow as a professional fantasy illustrator.
I wanted to create a specific painterly style and none of the brush packs I could find quite suited my needs - drawing fantasy races, environments and creatures with a specific twist on realism. These brushes emulate the effect of oil paints and painting on a canvas particularly well.
The following brushes are included:
Soft round - Favorite for painting skin
Hard airbrush - Universal brush for hard edges
Detail brush - Been using this one for everything from sketching to fine rendering
Sketch - A pencil-like brush with a soft and hard edge on each side
Stylized paint - Sketching & rough rendering
Grainy triangle - Painterly brush very suitable for hair and rendering as a • whole
Grainy square - Textured square brush for detailed rendering, shading and cleaning up
Texture spot - Works amazing for rough environmental textures such as rocks, snow, roads, etc.
Canvas smudge - Versatile smudge brush that adds an interesting canvas effect
Hard bristles - Painterly bristle brush, also works great for hair and fur
Oil paint - Slick and painterly, good for laying down colors
Paint rake - Literally imitates a rake, adds a very satisfying texture detail
Glaze blend - Low opacity brush I use for blocking color and rendering skin
Foliage - Use it to add any plant details, smudges exceptionally well
Skin detail - Adds a nice, realistic textured highlight to skin
Mist - For atmospheric effects and fades
Illuminate - For painting strong light sources and metallic highlights
Texture smudge - Smudge brush with a textured effect
Pearl - Stamp chain brush for drawing pearls
Canvas blend - Creates the illusion of a fabric canvas underneath
Fur - Bristle brush for fur, smudges really well
Starsky - Small dot splatters for painting stars
